Would you believe me if I told you that this jumpsuit was made with $8 of black fabric from Walmart? But hey, the fabric was the easy part.
The bodice was self-drafted, altered and adjusted so many times that I lost count. The pants were modified from Simplicity 4135, I removed the front fly and added welt pockets in back with flaps adding a back zip. Completing this jumpsuit was a task y'all. So much so that my next few projects are going to be EASY. Simple. Quick sewing wins. That being said, attempting tough projects does tend to stretch you in ways that can potentially make you a better sewer, so don't be afraid to push yourself beyond what you think you can do, because you'll learn even in failing. I'm pleased with the outcome of my jumpsuit, but honestly, I could probably adjust it even more, lol. Alterations are not something I love to do (I loathe doing them), but I do understand and appreciate how alterations can tailor and perfect a look.
But no worries if you don't want to sew your own jumpsuit, because you can shop similar below!
