My DIY Ruffled Top and Ripped Denim Shorts

I did another tutorial! Watch to see how I DIY ripped my own jean shorts and see what pattern I used to make this top..

Hey friends! I’ve been doing some lightweight sewing so now I'm back with another diystyle post! After all of the sewing trials of my black jumpsuit I really needed a quick sewing win.

First off, my black ruffled blouse is a Burda pattern, the one with the ruffle. I basically followed the pattern instructions, I only added a second ruffle and I did a regular hem instead of an elastic one. Easy.

And this is the second update of my denim shorts. They started out as a pair of ankle length cuffed boyfriend jeans from Forever 21 ($20) before I cut them into a cuffed Bermuda length. I only wanted to rip them recently after seeing a couple other fashion bloggers make them into A LOOK. Ripping your own denim is the best way to control how much you want your jeans destroyed. You could do a couple small rips or you could go HAM and rip them to shreds. It’s completely up to you.

You can WATCH my ripped denim shorts Youtube tutorial HERE.

But, for anyone who doesn't have the patience to rip their own denim shorts (because it does take a little patience), no worries, because you can check these out HERE.

Hey, thanks for checking me out! And Halloween is coming up! So stay tuned for more DIY costume looks.
