I first made this dress (above) back in 2010. I self drafted it making a halter tie top and full circle skirt that I modified into a handkerchief high-low hem. The dress draped beautifully and I loved it, the halter tie was just not a great fit because it always felt like it was choking me which is the reason why I wanted to remake it.
The dress on the right is my "after" updated for 2018 version. I eliminated the halter, and added the flounce with fabric that I had leftover, underneath the flounce is a bandeau bodice that I elasticized in back and I reused the halter ties to make the spaghetti straps. I also added pockets because honestly, I don't know why I didn't add pockets the first time. This version of the dress is fun and easy to wear. There's no choking from the halter tie, and I just pull it on over my head and go. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out! I'll definitely wear it more.
