The Reebok partnership never felt authentic and it’s obvious it was a money grab. No hate because I’m not mad at KDot for getting his paper, but the Reebok deal never felt genuine.
In my opinion, Nike, Converse or Vans always felt like better options for Kendrick, but if they were not interested at the time or not willing to outbid Reebok, I totally understand.
Well, it’s a new day and Kung Fu Kenny is officially the newest Nike family member. Kendrick and his TDE label announced the partnership over the weekend. The announcement tweet read: “Cortez. Since day one. #teamnike” The tweet further proves my point that he should’ve been signed to Nike.
But life is all about timing, and KDot is clearly on top of the game right now. No details have been announced regarding the partnership, but I think it’s safe to say we will see a Kendrick Lamar Cortez sooner or later.
