Zion's sneaker blow is not the look Nike needed.

As the story goes, college superstar Zion Williamson's Nike sneaker blew out in the Duke vs UNC game on National TV, February 20, 2019. Oh boy! The complete opposite of a good look for Nike.

The sneaker blowing out was bad enough, but to make matters worse, Zion left the game due to an injury caused by the sneaker malfunction. We all know what happened next: the Internet.

Also, Nike released a statement: "We are obviously concerned and want to wish Zion a speedy recovery. The quality and performance of our products are of utmost importance. While this is an isolated occurrence, we are working to identify the issue.”

Couple comments. Why in the hell did Nike allow Zion to ball in those anyway? Look at the size of him. There’s no way a sneaker that retails for such a low price could hold that man. Nike better feel happy this wasn’t the new Adapt kicks or a pair of Jordan’s. Especially since the Adapt kicks is their new baby and Jordan played for North Carolina. Lastly Nike has to sign this kid no matter the cost. They could easily flip the marketing on this if they do. If they don’t sign him this black cloud will forever hang over them.
